“Everything rises and falls on leadership.” - John C. Maxwell
According to EQUIP’s Founder, John C. Maxwell, leadership is defined and embodied in just one simple word: Influence!
The most influential leader of all-time is Jesus Christ. His leadership style was focused on serving others, while adding value to their lives through the gospel, His Kingdom principles, and parables.
Everywhere we go in our daily lives, we have the capacity to influence others. Consequently, everyone can lead others toward a more positive and fruitful direction in their lives. The best leaders aren’t defined by their titles or positions. Instead, they’re defined by their influence…their ability to shape opinions, inspire, or motivate people from where they are to where they ought to be.
For many around the world, viewing leadership as not being defined as a title or position, is a radical new line of thinking. How they were raised, or the models of self-serving leadership they’ve witnessed in their cultures, have limited their definition of leadership. EQUIP seeks to redefine their understanding of what a Christian leader is – as someone who simply wants to make other people’s lives better, for the glory of God.
Central to EQUIP curricula is the importance of character in the life of a leader. In addition, a servant-leader is constantly improving their skills and equipping members of their team.
